Help! My sims aren’t allowed to leave their house and i can’t save!!

Yesterday in game, my sim called to give their dog up for adoption and then the build and leave interactions grayed our saying the adoption agent would come. He never did! Help! It won’t let me save h...

Now and then you have to just exit without saving. I've had it where the grim reaper couldn't get to a body... no door. That was completely my fault there... And recently I had a glitch or something while trying to place a lot where it grayed out. Best to save now and then while playing your game or if you do anything major for sure cause that stuff happens now and then.
