- EgonVMSeasoned AceNo, curses don't cause death, so no worry about that. Curses come due to repeated spellcaster failures (failed spells/potions, duel losses etc).
There is a potion and an Untamed spell that removes curses. You could work towards these.
You can see the curses your sim has through needs panel. What curse does she have? - VenusARussellNew Spectator

She got a potion wrong. - MaggieMae7276Seasoned NoviceThat happened to me yesterday. I finally had time to play and my spellcaster got cursed when her potion failed. She and her husband are close to being able to do the decursify spell. Check the first store in Caster Alley daily as it sells books, changing some daily. That's how my casters are getting the spell books so when reach the level for each spell they can read them and know the spell, as well as getting spells from the instructors. If you really can't wait to get rid of the curse, you can use the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat and find the potion to get rid of the spell.

There is a reward for removing curses, too. The message about the curse should hint how it works.
Yes, of course. You can find it in rewards store. It shouldn't cost a lot of satisfaction points."VenusABatson;c-18269262" wrote:

Yes, but what's the effect of the curse? Does it make your sim hug other sims a lot? Or does it make your sim's hygiene need to be low all the time? - EgonVMSeasoned AceWait... Now I understand.
Yes, it happens when making potions fail. Don't worry, it won't kill and your sim will soon wake up.
Though as said, it could cause your spellcaster to get curses. You can see those in the needs panel (under the spellcaster charge meter). The effects of the curses can include:- Curse of Awkward Embraces - Your sim sometimes has to hug other sims.
- Curse of Infectious Laughter - Your sim sometimes laughs, making other sims laugh too.
- Curse of Repulsiveness - Your sim gets a green cosmetic appearance and will have harder time socializing. They can even make other sims vomit with their look. The ultimate Mischief spell allows your sim to give others the same effect.
- Curse of Scrambled Spells - Your sim's spells fail most of the time and have random outcomes.
- Curse of Uncleansable Stench - Your sim's hygiene need is always low and cannot be raised.
- Curse of Uncontrollable Charge - The spellcaster charge raises more faster than usually when doing spellcaster stuff. Now that you have to be careful with: full spellcaster charge will cause Spellcaster Overload, which can lead to death if it happens too much.
- Curse of Unwarranted Hostility - Other sims will be mean to your sim and may even fight your sim.
- Curse of the Duelist - Your sim will be provoked into spellcaster duels. Also, this curse will cause your sim to lose spellcaster duels more and should they win, they win lower quality items.
- Curse of the Night Wraith - Your sim's energy need is always low and cannot be raised. Your sim also can't sleep or take a nap. And from time to time, the Night Wraith may appear to your sim, making them panic and run around.
Curses can come in various spellcaster failure ways (too many spell backfires, too many failed potions, too many duel losses, too many overcharges etc). Failing to make potions can also give your sim a potion of questionable contents, which most of the time will give your sim a curse. A spellcaster can have up to 3 curses.
Fortunately, should your sim get cursed, there are two ways to get rid of the curse:- Decursify spell - This Untamed spell can be used on the caster themselves to remove their curses. This can be learned at Adept level.
- Potion of Curse Cleansing - This potion removes all of the spellcaster's curses. The recipe for that can be learned at Adept level, but it can also be bought from the Rewards Store for 500 Satisfaction Points.
- In addition, one of the Spellcaster Perks is Hexproof, which makes your sim immune to curses.
Sorry for confusion. - Curse of Awkward Embraces - Your sim sometimes has to hug other sims.
- mightyspritesimsRising HotshotShe will wake up soon @VenusABatson :) See the good advice above about identifying and removing the curse.
(If you want to. Some curses can be quite fun.) - susanleonaRising RookieMy sim had the curse of Repulsiveness. She must have been out but I can't even remember that. It took her a while to get the potion to reverse the curse. She did eventually but was ugly as sin and her friends avoided her while she was green.
