Help understanding terminology

I’m quite new to Sims, I’ve only been playing 3 months, and I don’t yet understand a lot of the terminology people use on the forums. I would appreciate if some of you could post what they mean (things like CC, MOO, etc). I’m sure I’m not the only confused noob, so perhaps this could help others who are new as well. Thanks so much in advance!

Huh I just used legacy sims to mean sims I was playing for several generations. :o Didn't know it had to be challenge related.
  • @BeJaWa I don't believe it has to be challenge related anyway. Also in a way you are challenging yourself when playing legacy because you need to make sure you always have a new heir ^_^

I also say I play legacy but I don't do it by any challenge.

I thought it did. o-o Otherwise it just gets confusing....
  • Slightly off topic here but the way I do things is that I do a legacy-style game (i.e. not a legacy challenge but has some of the aspects of a legacy e.g. ten generations). Unfortunately, I'm rather lazy and tend to refer to it as my legacy save anyway! So yeah, that's how I handle legacies that aren't challenges.

    Same here!

This is a good thread. :)

Sometimes you'll see SimGurus referred to by just their first name. For example, Graham is the head of the stuff pack team, and Nick helps people quash bugs.

Sometimes people use NPC to mean "nonplayed character", too - the ones you *could* choose to play but don't.

Unless you’re me :D and you like to edit the NPCs and/or pair them up with your own sims.

I am guilty of that too.

Especially when some of them have absolutely poor fashion choices :'(

I would highly recommend MCCC if you want to try mods. It helps out a lot with not having to try to remember all the cheats and allows story progression to happen a lot easier.
