Help with adding knitted clothes to CAS

My sims is currently knitting clothes but for some reason he can't add them to the household wardrobe to have them show up in CAS. The option is greyed out and tells me it is already added in CAS. But when I go to CAS it is not available. Has anyone else run into this issue? Is there something I am overlooking?

I know there is a cheat to unlock all the clothes but that kind of defeats the purpose of knitting them because it unlocks everything at once. So I would prefer not to use that cheat.

Just adding these pics as it might provide a clue to what's happening in your game. Maybe you're missing a step?

Directed my sim to knit sweater,

    Selected add to wardrobe.

That is exactly what I did with the beany my sim knitted and it worked just as you explain. My sim knitted some more clothes. The next items, a male sweater and the dress you show have the 'add to wardrobe' option greyed out as if it were already added to cas. But when I go to cas it is still locked.

When you hover over 'add to Wardrobe' is there any explanation given?

I think I got the message that the item was already added to the wardrobe (which is not true) but I can't check in game at the moment.

I just tested. It says 'this household already has this item in create a sim' (translated from Dutch so wording might be slightly off)

I also tested with another family in the same save and it worked for them. So it has to do with the current household.

I’ve had it happen a couple times but not consistently. For me if I sell that item on plopsy and knit a new one it usually works okay. I’m with you on the cheating though. I’d rather do it myself.

I tried knitting a new one because you said it helped in your case. I don't know why but this time it worked. :) So perhaps I just thought it was consistently every time because I had the bad luck of having 3 borked clothing items in a row?

In any case my sim now proudly wears the sweater he knitted himself.
