High School Years or Tears?

UPDATE : I really enjoyed the livestream and feel the guru’s did an excellent job on the gameplay and sharing the new features… so let’s see how did my speculations match up hmm ? ???

1. Upstairs of the school rabbit hole (WRONG upstairs is functional you can bulldoze the lot and rebuild your own new school and have your classes upstairs if u wish no rabbit hole in the school building )

2. Need A rug/mat for cheerleading can’t just cheer at any place at any time…YOU WILL NEED THAT RUG OR MAT (RIGHT)

3. You may have new lockers but only one locker out of the row will be functional And will be somewhat of a rabbit hole type of gameplay. (Sorta Kinda)

4.You can woohoo on the Ferris-wheel like you do with Leaf piles and bushes the riding part will be a rabbit hole. you can’t see yourself up there at all (RIGHT)

5. The haunted house will be a rabbit hole just like the Sims 3.(RIGHT)

6.Only one special window from build buy will be functional for sneaking out not all windows will be updated with this feature.(RIGHT)


7. You cannot raise the window to get fresh air it’s only functional for sneaking out or sneaking in and I believe that will only be limited during certain times of the day or night (RIGHT no fresh air)
(WRONG can use anytime)

8. The high school will work like special lots you can only attend doing school times/activities only….you can sit out on the grass and do anything in that school lot area during school times/activities only. (WRONG you can visit lot anytime)

9. There will be an open class (downstairs) but will not function fully like a class how we would want them be and it’s mainly for detention like I stated before I believe upstairs will be for rabbit hole classes.(WRONG it’s fully a classroom however we can’t interact with the teacher on students during class nor can we use our laptops fall asleep or use phone during class)

10. Football and or basketball games will be rabbit hole just like university it will give you times you can attend/practice but you will not actually see any Sim team members playing the game on the field.(RIGHT and WRONG u can’t attend any practice and far as I know all games may be rabbit holes not too sure how that works but I feel this was a MISSED opportunity IF it works the way I am assuming.

11. The bleachers are actually non-functional or limited only certain seating areas (RIGHT non functional you can’t sit on them at all)

12. The carnival area will be the same as the city living events (venders,live music ect..) As I stated before all rides/activities will be rabbit holes. (We may be asked questions to answer like we do at work) (RIGHT has hours of operation for food and drinks however all the chairs and vendors will STAY put and seen all the time like a normal boardwalk or pier)

13 A little update will be added for cell phones far as texting or social media but not as overwhelmingly exciting as seen in video.(WRONG they added new cool features)

14. The prom will have some limitations on decorating I believe you may have a chance to decorate but not as hands on as we may think.(WRONG you can decorate all the Auditorium events however you like)

15. Graduation Will be half rabbit hole half gameplay (??) (WRONG a full event from what I gather so far… haven’t seen any graduations yet)

How did you feel about the livestream? And what’s your take on the new pack? What’s your HITS AND MISSED features so far ??

Even with all the new gameplay videos that’s out ONLY base game and the new pack is being used? hopefully when adding the other packs it will unlock a few new cool surprises..

Feeling so far: Why is this a expansion?
Sure it probably took effort to code the school day, but school as seen in the stream is boring and most people will abandon it quickly. The only real, lasting feature the expansion adds is Social Bunny and considering how it replaces actually interacting with sims I see this more as a downside than a new feature I would pay for.

I hope they actually add these in, I'm still a bit critical of Maxis for showing it in the University pack trailer, but not actually giving us the option to see it in person.

American graduations have always looked interesting and cool to me (as an outsider), so I was pretty disappointed the marketing team lied to us about it >_>

I've been telling others who play the Sims is that the Sims 4 is not like Sims 2 or 3. We are running in the same cycle over and over people will play the game for a few days or maybe a week and their bored with it why? The Sims team keep recycling old content from previous pack from CAS to build and buy to gameplay, when they add something new to the game it's so underwhelming, lack luster, feels rushed or half finished or doesn't work at all. It's annoying and exhausting as a simmer to look over things that could've been in game and paying money for it. Only to have in a base game months or years later when it should've been in the game when it first came out. I don't understand that concept I don't. It's about to be 8 years and we still have to look over stuff that should be in the game?
