- mikamakimon8 years agoSeasoned AceI have my seasons set on four weeks so I can space out my holidays. I don't have any unique holidays, but winter fest is a three day holiday in my game (Xmas Eve, Xmas, Boxing day), and I created long weekend holidays scattered throughout the seasons (for camping, travel, etc) so I won't have to worry too much about taking their vacation time from work
- I made a holiday called Treat Sweet Sims Day.
Its all about baking all morning. Then you invite other sims over to eat everything you've baked and at the end of the day you gift them cakes, cookies and cupcakes.

Easter (Flower Bunny Fest): flower bunny, grand meal, holiday ceremony, hunt for eggs. (early spring? I can't remember which day)
Parents Day: give flowers, give gifts, grand meal, holiday ceremony. Late spring
Farmer's Market Day: gnomes, gardening. Beginning of summer
Summer Cookout: BBQ, fireworks, water balloons, watch sports, invite guests. Sort of a hybrid of the 4th of July and Labor Day, on the last day of summer.p
Halloween (Spooky Fest): costumes, trick or treating, decorate... I can't remember what else I added, but probably invite guests. Mid-fall.
Hiking Day: travel, fire, bbq, tell stories. Last day of fall. I take the household to Granite Falls (or potentially the jungle).
WinterFest Eve: bake, decorate, tell stories, holiday lighting, holiday spirit. The night before WinterFest, of course.
I love so many of the creative ideas I've seen in this forum, and I'd like to add a few more holidays, but I'm struggling with this: I was planning to switch to two weeks per season, but when I tested it out, all of my holidays ended up scrunched into one season, which is not helpful. So here are my questions:
(1) Is there a way to keep an existing holiday exactly as it is, but edit it to solely change the day? I couldn't find a way, and I'm guessing the answer is no, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.
(2) If not, it's easy enough to delete the ones I made and recreate them, but I'm worried about the premade holidays. I don't want to screw up, say, Winterfest or New Year's Eve. Has anyone here changed the season length and recreated the original holidays? Have you experienced any glitches when doing so, or do you have any recommendations to avoid problems with doing so? - paigeisin58 years agoSeasoned AceI have done Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, Thanksgiving, Easter, May The Fourth Be With You ( Or Star Wars Day with costumes), Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, Superbowl Sunday, Football Night, Movie Night, Baking Day where my Sims load up their inventories with baked goods and give everything to townies as gifts, Valentine's Day, Friend Day, Friends and Family Dinner, Family Reunions, Summer Skate Fun, Winter Skating Date Night, Parents Day, Flower Day, BBQ and Swim Day, and several more.
@Amapola76 I switched from seven day long seasons to 28 and just moved the holidays to where I wanted them to be. And, no, I did not experience any glitches when I did. Neighborhood Brawl is the only one I have not celebrated yet. Every time it pops up I have deleted it. So far. LOL I am going to celebrate it someday, though. I want to have one of my Sims develop a bad relationship with a townie then let them duke it out. The random holidays that pop up are just there if you want them to be, and you can edit, move or delete anything without worrying you're going to cause a problem with your game. - amapola768 years agoSeasoned Ace> @Paigeisin5 said:

Thanks, that's good to know! If you don't mind me clarifying, when you say that you moved the holidays, do you mean that you deleted them and then recreated them on the day you wanted? Or is there an easier way? - paigeisin58 years agoSeasoned AceDeleted them then recreated them on the days that suited me.

Superbowl... Interesting I might wait on that one. I know Football is the point of it, But I'm more of a Soccer fan, So If I could make Soccer a the New Super Bowl that would be fun.- In addition to many already named, I've created Dia de los Muertos, theres a grand meal, remembrance, telling stories and drinking. 3 Kings Day, baking, gift giving, and a party spirit.
- Are there Events that nonactive sims can invite my sim to? My sim is tired of host EVERY.SINGLE.EVENT. lol
- LadyKyn8 years agoSeasoned AceMade some holidays to be conventions once I set up some places for it and for sims to be dressed in costumes was pretty neat.
Also decided to make Tanacon for the laughs and giggles when I saw Laruenzsides video and I was not disappointed it was about as terrible as it sounded.
Sims definitely don't like standing in lines for hours wetting themselves while fighting with one another and being hungry. Had a elder sim die from old age. :<
