How do you create drama in The Sims 4?
So..... I had been making families for ages now and after one genaration I get bored with playing them until I realized that there is not much happening. They always live in a "happily ever after life...

I’ve done different things in various saves to create fun drama to play out.
But one of my favorites was when I set up a city rotation save.
I moved a few key families all into the city. (laandgrabs, Lothario/Caliente, and Goths plus my create sim into the city. I decorated cool apts for all of them that fit their styles.
I then made Nancy a top politician, and Bella in the charity branch of the political career. And ensured they were enemies. Gregory becomes a doctor and Morty still a writer, they aren’t enemies per say but don’t get along.
Then to spice things up I had Cassandra start dating Malcom to everyone’s dismay.
The Calentie sisters move into the party penthouse, Dina becomes a bartender and Nina a social media star. They throw wild parties every night.
Don lives alone in the fashion district and finds himself torn between the sisters.
I added my sim into their scene by making her social media star want to be. She starts in a tiny needs TLC apt but quickly becomes popular amongst all the hottest in the city. She ends up working her way to uptown but to add drama she has a baby along the way and had to balance it with her career.
This was fun because even though I mostly played my own sim, I enjoyed the world around her. I’d rotate out every so often to play the premades.
