Well even just spanking your child counts as child neglect now days :| lol....
That just illustrates how Topsy-turvy today's world really is. Spare the rod, spoil the child. There's lots of truth in that axiom. If you're NOT disciplining a child, THAT'S neglect of the highest order.
There's other ways to discipline your child without having to lay your hands on them. Spanking is barbaric and violent. I can't imagine anyone hurting a child they'd love and making them cry out in pain. Maybe it's illegal now because they realize it was an outdated practice. There have been studies shown on animals through award systems only that prove they are more trained than the dog who gets their nose rubbed in their poo. My dad usually did it to me when I was a kid and it seemed like it was just a good way to take out his anger on me, even if what I did was on accident.. Time out when they're younger and grounding or taking away privileges just seems like a lot more reasonable thing to me instead.. Your kid won't grow up to be bad just because you didn't act violent towards them. There are other methods.
Anyway to topic at hand..
They included all the bad stuff from Sims 1, like characters being deleted after a fight and kids going to boot camp forever. Granted back then, it wasn't a big deal because they could easily be remade (head, body) but you would still lose all the progress you had with that sim.. They included limited life stages.. Then they got rid of all the cool staples, such as random scary events like unexpected deaths, firefighters, and burglars. Going back to the roots? More like making the game as basic as possible.. The game didn't even originally contain ghosts. Sims 1 always had them. Really? They rushed it out so fast.. I guess for story purposes, a child taken away is considered dead.. I better hope I saved recently, if that ever happens. I liked how another family could adopt them in old games (2 and 3). I can't believe they would be gone forever.. How ridiculous. Just like the baby object from sims 1.. It never grows up, if it gets taken away.
