I play big families. Playing only one sim bores me. The more family members the better because I like to manage them, their needs, their whims and aspirations all while keeping their relationships up with family and friends, add some pets into the mix, visit plenty of community lots and if that doesn't manage to entertain me then I play the Sims 3 instead.
