In Sims4, the game will sometimes toss a random twist in for me. I made a copy of my Main Save, so I could fool around with Snowy Escape and not worry about my Sims, or the save getting seriously glitched. In that new save I only copied over the Erik Cantrell household, which consists of Erik, his wife Kayleigh and their four children (very close in age as they had their 'second' baby shortly after their first, and she turned out to be identical twin girls) then they had their second son, Andrew, shortly after the twins. In that game save, just as the eldest child was about to age up, the family got word that the Kayleigh and Hayleigh's dad had deceased. :open_mouth: I'm busy thinking he's not even an Elder, let alone one that's been an Elder for quite some time. What happened? :open_mouth:
Once I made certain my game would be okay, I went back to my Main Save, wherein I had four other households: Aaron Cantrell; Joseph Cantrell, Sr.; the Talek Sen Dene household and the Goldens. I went into the Golden household to verify Drake's age. I had every intention of aging him down a bit, but I saw he had a few days before he was even going to become an Elder, so I let it be.
Now, I have restarted game saves numerous times. Generally speaking, no two restarted households play out the same way. However, this time it did to a degree. (Not entirely certain if it was because I uploaded a copy of this very family into My Library and then used them to start the new save, or what?) But, just as it happened in the Test save, the family came home from their Snowy Escape vacation to learn Drake (an Elder) had passed. This pop-up gave a more thorough background inasmuch as it stated he was serving in Strangerville. Drake was a soldier. I just didn't know before this he was serving in Strangerville. That fed my imagination. Since he had a few days before he was to age up, it strikes me he had just become an Elder, most likely, so another story would have to suffice. Since he was serving in Strangerville, why not have it that he was on a 'secret' mission that failed? Drat the Mother and her evil ways!
So basically, I rarely have to create my own plot twists to keep things interesting. Right now, the game is only too happy to lend a hand. I do use a few mods: Road to Fame; Slice of Life; Mortem; Private Practice; SNB & Bills. I do know that SOL is probably behind my Sims getting propositioned by their same gender parents-in-law and in my other game save the brother-in-law, her husband's next younger brother. But I just set those aside.
