aside from saving everyone to the gallery then using mccc to reconnect anyone outside the house you can also try a save as all it does it let you make another copy however it may fix bugs for a bit if you want a quick fix. Other than that take out all mods and cc repair your game then try playing that way and saving.
I have a family I have kept going for a while this way since cats and dogs, and another family that was very buggy for several real life months either way helped for a while just depends on how attached you manage to get to them.
Oh I didn't know that using save as might fix it, because I was using save as initially and then went to save when I remembered people saying that was better, but so used to using save as I tend to forget and use it more. I always initially for sure starting a new game use the save as,
