- apart from not being able to travel or save for like a minute or two while they're "breaking in", I don't find them intrusive at all
- If you are unlucky like me then they will break in multiple times a week. It has ruined my realistic saves. if you keep the doors locked in your house it usually stops them from breaking in, but they will stand at the door and hiss. You can't completely avoid vampires, in fact like someone said on another topic the more you try to avoid them, the more they will interfere with your game.
- SerraNolwen8 years agoSeasoned AceI only got the pack about a month ago, but I can say I barely ever see them. I did get the usual "welcome to the neighborhood" call from Vlad, but I just ignored it and I've never seen a vampire drink blood autonomously. In the games where I don't want vampires, I've simply stayed away from the Vampire world and I have not really encountered them.
- What if I go in the vampire world to build/set up jobs for sims but not visit? Will they still be invasive.
- I'm not super sure. On my legacy load, I only see Vlad a few times commenting on my neck. No break ins and I don't see the other premades. But on my asylum load, I get a break in like every week. No Vlad though but I don't go out to much and I built my asylum over his house.
- OldeSimsFan8 years agoSeasoned AceDepends, in my experience, on whether you do anything vampiric, including researching or commenting. If you do absolutely nothing, then no problem. Got this from the forums here. If you do anything, then you will start having problems. I have a save that is totally unplayable due to vampires. Checked the vampire bit out in it, had sims do the research, visit, socialize, and as a result was constantly being broken into - usually by townie vamps that proliferated like vermin. Very quickly gave that same game up for lost.
As for my saves where I've done nothing vampiric, I usually see the premades only as bar staff, sometimes at a festival. If I have the waterslide in the yard then Vlad comes to use it, skipping the door knocking entirely. "Oldeseadogge;c-16182808" wrote:

That's been my experience. If I click anything bat, all bets are off, but as long as I don't, I may get a call from Vlad about my lovely neck, but that's it.- Magdaleena968 years agoSeasoned AceI have no idea, as I always welcome them anyway, but?
They're not too invasive at all in my experience, especially if you've got vampires in any of your "played" households.
Heck, if there is a vampire in your active household, nobody will even care to invite themselves in to drink the blood of your human sims! Once Vlad came and visited my legacy lot, but then he just promptly turned away from the door when he realized another vampire was already living there. Seems like the best vampire repellent is... more vampires. :D
Apparently some people find them a lot more invasive when they don't do any vampire stuff at all. So if you buy the pack, you might as well do something related to the main attraction of it, even if it's just something as simple as setting either of the premade vampire households as a played one. Deleting them will just generate more NPC vampires. You can't really erase them from the game completely once you have them. The game expects you to want them. For good reason, the pack is called "Vampires", after all.
Also, if you really don't want them to even get into your home once, just lock the doors. Most of them will give up after a while. Unless they've got the vampiric entrance power, in which case, I hope you've got garlic. "To7m;c-16185442" wrote:

This is just not true at all.
If you DO NOT answer Vlad’s intitial phone call, you probably will not see a vampire again. And if you m do, you won’t know they’re vampires because they look and act exactly the same as every other sim unless YOU change it.
The only vampire I’ve ever seen in my ‘realistic’ save was Caleb and he was fishing.
If you want the BB stuff then buy the pack. Just delete the premades if they bother you.

It's true for my game. And I did delete the premades, and all the townie vampires I find. But the game creates at least 2 more each night, and then most nights they try to break in. I save before my sims go to bed now, so I can exit the game when a vampire comes.
I didn't know that the vampires could be this invasive before I bought the pack because I wasn't on the forums, and I didn't read anything about it. I thought I could easily avoid them. I just wanted to warn OP that they might be unlucky and have problems with the vampires like I wish someone had warned me about it. Maybe most people are able to avoid them like you are. Maybe there's something wrong with my game? I'm sorry if I'm off topic in any way- Hmmm, I will look it up, but I'm positive a guru said that was the way to prevent vampires from acting out in your save -- not doing anything at all vampire. If you have already triggered it, though, there's no way to turn it off. But it works for almost everyone -- if that doesn't work for you on a save where you're sure you did nothing vampire, you probably should repair your game. However, you cannot answer the call from Vlad, you cannot look up vampire lore on the computer, and in conversations, you cannot choose anything with a bat next to it. If you do those even once, the vampires will come.
Edit: In any event, if you want to buy the pack for the build/buy options, you can always try modding them out. TwistedMexi had a mod for awhile but he hasn't updated it. However, there is a new mod out that should do the same thing, but without the toggle that was built into TwistedMexi's mod. http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=603329
