How many hampers?
So I went and put one in every bedroom like the old laundry in previous sims but when doing laundry they only empty one per load so I guess I only need one?

Do it however you want. I tell my sims to unload all the hampers before starting the washer, which works just fine and saves time - I only need to do one load a day while emptying all the hampers.
