How many kids do you prefer to have per couple?

i don't play rotational so i usually have my 2 main sims and then let them have 1 child. Then i play as that child and his or her parents live with their kid and grandkids until they die. Sometimes i give them 2 or 3 kids but eventually i delete them and start over bc it's too much. I have to get each one a job, a spouse, have kids, etc. it's too much.
