I'm sure it will take a while for the Sims 4 to finish. As in the Sims 1, 2, & 3 the number of opportunities and packs have increased, but have continued to keep main packs like vacation, seasons, dating, etc. I am assuming that will be the same for sims 4. I really wish they'd get the packs out faster...
