How often do you play with PlantSims?

I haven't played them in a long time.. so if this has changed I'd like to know but I was put off by the one hairstyle they had.. and actually the green skin could be a more attractive green or have some variation. I don't use cc or mods (not opposed just to lazy to update and unwilling to go down that rabbithole). More interactions would be nice for sure and something that makes all this seem more .. magical somehow? I wish I had a better suggestion for doing this.
