Yes, it runs smooth for you but not so much for others as far as open world goes which is an dead issue, it was the tools that allow me to make my own worlds as well as create my own lots which you mentioned I cannot play forever as I am always looking for more space and EA/Maxis maintains an hold on letting one create their own Neighborhoods as Neighborhoods are now paid content and the last free Neighborhood was given in 2015. So for me Sims 4 is like decaffeinated coffee and Sims 3 has the caffeine but it is an older program but an goodie for me and shame EA/Maxis could not get an grip on what they had and lost it like they lost Sim City 2013.
