How to bring a ghost over?

I know that you can invite a ghost to live in your home if they're really good friends but how do you get a ghost there in the first place?

I married an NPC sim whose mom died ((I didn't realize I hadn't turned aging off)) and i want to bring her back so she doesn't fade away. i want the kiddies to know their grandma. Her ghost has visited a few times even though we're on different lots but I'm not sure if i can force her to come visit. Can anyone help? I don't want her spirit to fade forever.

To keep the spirit from fading away there is an option on the tombstone/urn where there is an option to strengthen the connection to this world or something like that. Once done, this will keep them from fading away or being culled for 90 sim days.

The sim died in their home, which is now empty. I don't know if there's an urn inside since the door is always locked.

Try going there from the manage worlds and if it's inside move it outside then you can visit the lot with your sim and pick it up.

I can't go inside though. Nobody lives there so when I knock on the door nothing happens.

If you go to manage worlds you can go there in build mode, you don't need a sim to visit.

If your Sim isn't the one with a relationship with the mother-in-law, have the wife invite her over and then have her invite her mother to move in.

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you perhaps explain in more detail?

  • I'm in build mode in the correct lot ((I went to the wiki to verify the house she lives in)) but I'm seeing..nothing. It looks like a bunch of blueprints, with lines and all that. Not an actual home
