- Without mods? Have one adult hold the toddler and another take the picture with a camera or their cellphone. Use "take picture", NOT "take picture of".
If you have Toddler Stuff, let the toddler play on the big playground thingie. A sim should be able to get a good shot of the face the moment the toddler emerges at the balcony and starts looking around.
Otherwise I recommend Teleport any sim and Pose Player. They are both very handy to get your sims into position and freeze their movements long enough for your other sims to take the picture. - @EnkiSchmidt ooh thanks for the tips!
Do you know if you can zoom in and out when taking pics too? - JestTru7 years agoSeasoned AceI have them sit on the couch or chair then have the sim taking a photo go slightly in front of them and take a photo.
With different camera's there are different zoom in levels. Here is one I took of Cole sitting on the couch with the zoom out.
This is one I took of Bella Croft sitting on the floor during her first Winterfest. - You can only zoom with the better digicams, not with the cellphone. The cheapest digicam (I think) doesn't has a zoom, either. The best camera costs around 1,200 simoleons iirc. But it's definitely worth investing!
- purplestarz20067 years agoRising AceSaved camera positions are a lifesaver for this. Go into “cameraman mode” by pressing the “tab” key, and zoom in to the toddler’s face. Then, hold down control and any number between 5 and 9.
Exit cameraman mode and direct your Sim to “take picture” with their phone or camera. I will usually do this with the game paused so my “subject” doesn’t move out of position. The camera initially will show whatever is directly in front of the Sim, but if you hit the same number from before without holding control (I.e, if you hit control+5, just hit 5) it will snap to the saved position. - texxx787 years agoSeasoned Ace

Gonna try this! Thanks for sharing! - Not the same but painting from reference for portraits is always fun :) and you get a good amount of zoom abilities

A little side note on this one, if you sometimes use the move objects cheat to raise or lower objects, then do not save a camera position on 9. I did that once and raising objects got a lot more complicated because the camera kept snapping into position. - annaliese397 years agoSeasoned AceI usually have the toddler and photographer sit next to each other, so when the toddler looks towards the photographer I can take a cute close up photo of the toddler. I also like to use the pose player mod sometimes. For some more professional looking photos, I recently had the photographer sit while the toddler posed in front of a white wall to create some portraits very similar to what you get with the photo studio e.g.

I don't want mods, it's not that serious lol Just a little something something.
