I recently made a sim with the express purpose of NOT going to the ROM, it's a story thing, and he just practiced a lot, and I mean a bunch, and finally learned all the spells for all the levels. Adrian also used the cauldron, besides for making mac and cheese. (Lord that's a lot of food.) I have debug on so I could get his familiars from the buy catalog. The stalls in Spellcasters Alley only sell a select amount and your sim has to keep going back to catch the right stuff. (Reminds me of Selvadorda's sellers tables.)
