I Didn't Know We Had This Feature!

I think it came with GT, though the option isn’t available if you use it on sims you played as, I heard. It’s fun, you can tell a sim to hookup with a married sim and they’ll text you saying why didn’t you tell them, they were already in a relationship

That's a feature in The Sims 4 Get Together I call influencing other sims' relationships.

Under the friendly category, you can find an interaction "Ask about other sims..." which will let you know what that sim thinks about that other sim you chose after choosing the interaction. Now comes the influencing part.

Under the friendly category, you'll find two interactions: "Talk up to..." and "Hook up with...". Talking up to other sims will make these two sims friends while hook up with will make two other sims date (unless the target is already in relationship).
Under the mean category, you'll find two interactions: "Trash talk about..." and "Ask to break up with...". Trash talking about other sims will make two sims hate each other while asking other sims to break up will make two sims break up.
What's awesome is that if you choose a sim that is currently in the same room, they will react by getting a happy moodlet when you talk other sim up to them or an angry moodlet when trash talking about them.

Of course these interactions can fail depending on your sim's and other sim's relationships. After you successfully use one of these four interactions, there is a cooldown period. These interactions cannot be used with sims in your household, but you can talk others up to or trash talk about a sim in your household.
If the target sim is currently on the lot, the sim you've talk to will go up to them and interact with them to change their relationship immediately. If the target sim isn't currently on the lot, the relationship will change later. Your sim will receive a text message when it does.

I found out about these interactions when after getting Get Together I saw a loading screen tip saying you can hook other sims up. It's awesome you can do it. It does make changing your sim's reputation a little easier as other sims in the household can talk other sims up to or trash talk about the sim whose reputation you want to be changed. After that, it's easy to make a good friend (to get a good reputation) or get into a fight (to get a bad reputation).

But the feature I stumbled across once is the responsible trait chance cards. The thing is that the Irresponsible trait's description had the fact that your sim will encounter new situations at work (which usually results in performance loss), but it wasn't mentioned with the responsible trait. The chance card's results are usually performance gain, so it's easy to get a promotion when your sim has the responsible trait.
That feature is from The Sims 4 Parenthood.

Instead of just being able to ask what another Sim thinks about your Sims' latest squeeze or a Sim they know, now there's an option for "Hook Up With…" . This could come in very handy when your Sim has a bad break-up :'( and it's high time he stops moping about and gets back out there. ;)
When did this show up? Did it come with GF and I'm just now noticing it?

At any rate, this is great! I do still wish there was an interaction that allowed for a Sim to congratulate another Sim on a birth in their family, or a job-promotion. Seems those are restricted to NPS text messages.

Blind dates may come up when your sim has great or awful reputation. Usually, these opportunities come up as text messages. So if you don't want to go on one, you can just decline.
Other opportunities that may come up for sims with these reputation are career offers, new friends (if you allow other sim to give that sim your number), party invites (charity benefit parties for great rep while lampoon parties for awful rep), and money offers (to donate for great rep while to gain some more for awful rep).
The lessons also tell what each reputation gives.

Gee, and here I have had my Sim cancel the text messages about giving out his cell phone number. He's got the Public Number Quirk and I thought that was related. Yikes. Of course, some were guys and he's straight. He also has managed to gain and keep his Pristine Reputation. He's been invited to take part in one event to help with donations.

I'll have to take a closer look at just who wants his number next time. He's bombing out on the dating scene, mostly because the Fans flirt, give him roses, and then act all flirty around him. And, sometimes he can't help but react to a beautiful Sim. :open_mouth: He was engaged, but she just couldn't handle it.

Yup! One of my other favorite features from GT. I actually didn't notice it for like a few months when I got that pack. :p

Fun part about that is, sims will actually go to the other sim in question you may be talking about or trash talking if they happen to be on the lot. Trash talked one sim to another and they said 'That's terrible I'll talk to them myself.' Walked off to talk to other sim across the lot and pretty much argued with them and yelled and said 'Wow you were right they're such a jerk!'

Same with hooking up, they'll go over to 'woo' said sim you played match maker. Though he got denied and was embarrassed for the rest of the night.

It's a neat little feature, since you can kinda urge other sims to interact with another without having to cheat relationships.

I've used it on sims I played as in my rotational save and it works just fine

Blind dates are exclusive to Get Famous.

I use the Hookup interaction on the rare chance I want to see 2 sims I'm not playing with end up together, to give me just a smidgen of story progression that I can control.

I have always used "ask about other Sims" to hook up Sims and it always worked that way for me since GT. I never had 'blind date' or whatever, I simply asked them about another Sim and then they liked them.

That's interesting. I never even touched the "ask about other sims" option, so this could be a good way to influence my townies without playing as them or going into CAS :D
