I don't understand the Freelancer career.
Whats the point of the painter, author, and tech guru careers if sims can work from home under those same job titles? It does not make sense to me.

I haven't tried the new freelancer career yet (still waiting for my mods to get greenlighted as working), but from what I understand it adds a level of uncertainity to the game?
For example if my sims register with the ministry of labor as painters, they will paint when and what they want and then sell the result from the easel for an assured payment in money in fame. But if the same sim applys for gigs, they carry the risk of getting refused and having to start anew. Since we/some of us asked for more consequences and realism, we got that.
