I would hate that, too. It was a huge pet peeve of mine in TS3. It's why I liked one of the differences of TS4 because I could load the household I wanted to play. But I hated TS4's obsession with making me go into CAS when loading a new game, too. I prefer TS1 and TS2's style of neighborhood view first then letting me decide which household to load. TS4 is always nerfing the things I liked about it. Instead of adding things I think could make it better (traits having a meaningful purpose with personality, please) they keep changing things I really admired about TS4. :s
