I like the notion of making it harder on the whole. But I would also implore EA to allow for more random deaths. They used to have a percentage in Sims2, for instance. Your Sim might survive being shocked when fixing something electric one time, yet get shocked to death another time, depending on the percentage. It didn't depend on you or your now dazed Sim to go back to fixing it, in order to risk their life. Same thing with getting hit by a satellite. Same thing with alien abductions. We now have lightning strikes. While some survive these in RL, it's hard to imagine everybody (even though getting struck is rare) would survive. The game has been systematically dumbed down. Kids have to learn that life isn't always fair or easy. Now, I'm not saying cranking things up so high you would be lucky if your Sim survived one day in the game, mind you. But everything isn't peaches and cream, all hearts and flowers. Everything is going to be all right. If this is a true simulation of said life, then risks should be involved. I slipped on the upper stairs the other day. It was dumb, my heel left my slipper and I skid down partway, landing on my behind. Thankfully, I was all right, beyond my very bruised Ego. LOL It could have turned out differently, though. We need more risk in the game.
