I suppose it depends on what vampire perks he has. I don't know if the npc vampires go by the same rules as played vampires. My sims can sunbathe and do not hide out in the shadows but I set them up to be able to. Maybe his could have been set differently but, I am not feelin that that is the issue. I also wonder, if we download him, will he start making the house and phone calls to people again. In fact, I am going to go move that former butler out of Vlad's house and download him and move him back in. I turned my main sims into vampires recently so it is as good of a time as any.
I've been wondering about the house and phone calls too, and I think I'll have to unlock a few doors for him to find out if he makes those house calls. At the moment, most households have their doors locked for vampires because that habit of his became very annoying 😁Also, I think that one Sim who's so keen on meeting vampires will pay him a visit.
I'm also wondering if keeping him in "My households" after downloading him will prevent him from disappearing again.
I hadn't thought of that. Him disappearing again I mean. I don't really want to set him as a played household because then he might not do his Vlad things. And I am sure he will not be liking my vampires because they are as bad as they wanna be in plain sight. Caleb will be working the food stand in front of Planet Honeypop and I caught him facepalming and making gestures at my sim yesterday. It was hilarious :)
I don't want him in my played households either because he's great as an NPC, but maybe if one or two of my Sims befriend him or keep in touch, he might not vanish again :)
Caleb is working a food stand at one of the San Myshuno festivals in my save, too, and he's one of the astral projected vendors in the Magic Realm. He's also having an affair with one of my Sims and I think he'll turn her eventually. She's got the morbid trait, loves everything dark and goth and has just moved to Forgotten Hollow after divorcing her husband, and I think she'd make a pretty good vampire :D Also, they make a pretty cute couple :D
