Not all sims will be living there. I know that I'll have some of my sims treating their visit like a vacation. A hotel would help sell the deal for me, even if it's not technically a "real" vacation. But as I said before, I don't strictly need a "real" hotel for that, when I could make my own hotel lot.
I uploaded a roadside motel I built a long time ago, maybe you can use it and redecorate it to look more island worthy. It has rooms for an over night stay or two. And townie Sims would stop in and use the TVs or whatever I put in the rooms, I guess it would work for make believe. But remember it was decorated to be a roadside inn out in the desert. :D ETA: It's a clean copy I never uploaded used lots that I tested but saved a fresh one, then put a clean one on gallery.
