I like your update as usual. :)
Regarding Tarriot and his family, I have some questions. What is "Luxe-Hamper"? I think it's a little odd for a king to have a surname, so maybe it shouldn't be part of Tarriot's name if it's supposed to be his last name. Also, why does Amalia share it if she is only a half-sister? I don't think a consort would pass on his name alone to the heir. It should be a name the Queen picked.
Hi, glad you asked! "Luxe-Hamper" is the name of the House, their family name. It has nothing to do with the royal peerage, or their individual titles. I just feel I need to address their legal name every now and then, and this house also has branches currently residing in Tartosa (where they held the Tredony barony long before they were offered the royal stuff) and in Britechester (where the Mazaloom Royal Trust owns Wyvern Hall). The family name is normally not used when the royal title is, so Tarriot is normally referred to as King Tarriot or King Tarriot of Mazaloom. In some of my systems, ie the family tree, I use their legal names with the title as a note, that's a technical thing re programming.
King Tarriot's mother, Queen Evez, was a real Luxe-Hamper. Her Prince Consort Clempus was married into the family, so I thought it was appropriate that he took her family name. I did not know that he should not keep his legal name as Queen Evez passed, or that he could not pass it on to his 2nd wife or their daughter. If this is against protocol (because the house is royal) it will adjust itself later at Amalia will take her mother's maiden name as she grows up - there are too many Luxe-Hampers in my game, and her mother was the last Hoffstar, so I'd rather see someone bring on the Hoffstar name.
I was not sure what ex Prince Consort's title would be as a widower, but others who get a Princess title will keep it after the death of their Prince, so I though he just skip the Consort bit, but stay a Prince. His daughter will nit get the Princess style though, as she is not the child or grandchild of a Monarch. Not sure if that is correct either, but it's more fun if they are not all princes and princesses...
PS: Amalia is *not* in line of Successors, so her royal influence is very limited. I'll tell more about her in part 5, as she somehow became a furious child affecting the royal children negatively (not my idea, but the game's) LOL.
