I'm sure there's more to Sims than being really, really, ridiculously good-looking...

I think our brains are kind of prewired to try and find an aesthetic that pleases us. Plus I think it's easier to make attractive sims since the game mechanic doesn't allow for unmirrored faces (i.e. one side of the face is the mirror image of the other side). So there's no lopsidedness and imperfections in that regard.

Hm, I like to fill my game with sims I find aesthetically pleasing, but I don't see it as a problem. Maybe more of a habbit.

Of course I have my own sort of style that I've gotten used to when it comes to making sims, but as long as they don't all look like clones of one another and have a good range of diversity between their features, I don't mind that they're all good-looking.

Besides, the game generates enough uggos to balance it out, anyway.

I have to agree. I like populating my saves with my favourite attractive sims and seeing what happens. As long as they're all ridiculously pretty in different ways.

Hmm, I dunno. I probably veer toward "more attractive" whatever that means) when I make sims out of whole cloth. Sometimes they're based on real people tho, so don't end up quite as "pretty." I have two sims I based on myself for instance--one that was basically me (tho not entirely lol, I can never quite bring myself to do that) and one that was a combo of me and my best friend. The former was also an alien ;-P Anyway, I dunno how "good looking" they came out since I was basing them on real life features.

I did make some vampire sims that I think came out pretty gorge, but that was kinda the point, lol. Two of e'em look alike, but they're supposed to be twins ;-D

Most of the sims I make in CAS are based on fictional characters tho, like from tvand stuff, so obviously they tend to be pretty attractive ;-P But then, they're based on actors, so, yeah. I did make some Game of Thrones Houses inspired sims, that weren't based on any single character but more my general impressions of the houses. Some of those came out sorta interesting.

Lucky you. I have a hard time making good looking Sims in 4. I usually tweak here and there, everything looks great and when i go into live mode, the ugly features start showing themselves. Eventually i realize i have a sim that will only look good in one hair and outfit XD

I used to only make "perfect" looking Sims(of course I have my own idea of what is perfect). But then I got really bored of it because they all started to look the same(body, face and so on).

Now I create the backstory first and then the Sim so they turn out more personal looking and less "perfect". They still turn out to be pretty good looking or at least adorable in their own special way.
I also try to make the most out of the CAS so I try to have at least one Sim in the world with every hairstyle.

I made a vampire sim once and he looked good but i didn't want him to be perfect so i gave him an underbite.
It makes him cuter
I try to give sims unique features since most of the time it causes that the offspring looks pretty.

I like to get rid of townies and populate my worlds with my own creations and I am very particular as how my sims look. Is not necessarily that they have to be "good looking" per se but they need to be my style. I never use the gallery to download other people's sims, not because I don't like them but because they are not the way I would make them. It is hard to explain.

Well, I got bored of good looking sims from the very beginning so I decided to make 90% of them look average or even ugly (but in a realistic way). I make the space between the eyes either wider or less wide, move the mouth and nose higher or lower on the face, modify the lips, make the faces long or flat, etc. it's quite fun and I end up playing with unique looking sims. Sometimes I even give NPCs make over to make them look special and when they have children autonomously (thanks to MC Command Center) I recognize them at the first sight without having seen them ever before and I'm like "They definitely have their father's nose!"

Just make that good looking sim have kids with Vlad. The offspring should turn out hideous...lol
