If you still have the save with the original triplets, try clicking on the portrait of the baby near the bottom left corner, next to the small portraits of your other sims in that household. Clicking on the portrait will zoom the camera in to where that sim is, so you don't have to look all over your lot for them.
The 3rd baby was at the hospital but when I couldn't find it when we got home I went to do just that and it showed only 2 babies. The hospital thought she was cute and decided to keep her for themselves.
