I don’t understand why anyone wants the franchise to end. Sims 4 isn’t a great game, but it has amassed a huge following. I’m not the biggest fan of the game by any means but even I can’t deny that. EA has no reason to not try and maximize their profits from those players, and players who play other Sims games, and players who don’t play Sims at all. At some point that requires you to release a new base to continue operations.
Also the amount of money they spend on the game does not affect the price of the game. The market price for new AAA releases is $60. Publishers offer marginal upgrades at much higher prices through limited/special/collectors editions which can be expensive, but the standard edition won’t be sold above the industry standard price.
