Interesting household ideas?

If you're only bored with the households, why not download some from the Gallery? You could search using a hashtag for backstories, drama, or non-traditional.

If you're bored with everything, maybe try downloading a custom save, and moving your current household/s to that save.

As for gameplay ideas, maybe try an occult file with all the occults. Play it similar to a legacy but a rotation where each occult type is trying to build their bloodlines as well as build their world. It kind of combines The Legacy Challenge and the Build Your World Challenge. I've thought about doing this but I haven't figured out how I want to do it. You could even have rivalries and alliances. It all depends on how in-depth you want to go with it.

I'm currently playing a legacy-style rotation with my founder being an alien. With the help of mods, it has been anything but boring. The third child of the third generation has just aged up to a toddler. I just let the mods and game do what it wants and I roll with it. I don't have any rules other than that.

Well as an example, I can tell about a few of my households, maybe they might inspire you. First, I have one sim/vampire household. There is my main sim Matilda, a vampire with the serial romantic aspiration completed, a bit of a baddie. Then her non-vampire wife (who gladly always offers her arm for plasma) and her boyfriend Caleb Vatore. So all three of them live happily together. Matilda has a bunch of vampire kids with Caleb (to fill the world with more vampires). They are very rich and have a butler, who gets often drained of plasma as well. It's a very fun and different household, I can tell you that lol

Or, I have also created Joker and Harley Quinn for my game and they just wreak havoc in the world. Both evil and in the villain careers. It's fun to play with them and just be the absolute worst. They have a dungeon where one of my sims from another household has "mysteriously" died, the Joker is the secret father of one of my other sims' child, etc.. Always if you want something bad to happen, you can make it their fault basically haha.
