When I asked in another thread what other players thought why kids were left out again, the most realistic reply was because of the animations. But then I see that kids actually have a magic animation in CAS and I'm like, wait, what? Would it have been so expensive and time-consuming to include that same animation in Live Mode to allow children to do some magic, or if it was either one or the other, include it only in Live Mode because everyone hates those way too frequent CAS animations anyway?
Especially since, as I also said in that other thread, there really isn't any excuse this time. With Vampires, I understand to a degree that people might not be comfortable with the idea of undead children (although this entire "Better not include anything that might upset someone" policy is a problem in itself), but the magic for the most part is no dark adult stuff. In fact, I can't think of anything other than maybe the love spell that might be inappropriate for kids, and even that spell can only be used on other people if I'm not mistaken. So who cares if a child plays Cupid and gets two older sims together? Isn't Cupid often depicted as a winged toddler with a bow and arrow anyway?
I could go on and on, but there's no point. As usual, I'll just have to wait for a mod to fix this.
Agreed!!! And how cute would it have been if a child could make his divorced parents fall in love with each other again <3
But even if that had, for some indiscernible reason, been a problem, they could've just given them some of the spells and left out "evil" (uch) things like fire, love and ice.
Or, again, give them cute little kid spells "finish homework", "steal toy from sibling", "levitate toddler" (oh wait, that one is evil again right? ?).
