I am not annoyed by the animation, but frustrated. Why did they bother to make this and then not include it in the game. It feels like a 'nah-nah nah-nah, you can't have this'
If they create this animation, why not use it ingame. And a few kids friendly spells like finish homework, make toys float or summon cookies. And to top it off we don't get a single cas asset for them.
I understand if some people might not like child versions of the 'scary' type of occults like vampires, zombies or werewolves. But when it comes to spellcasters, mermaids and fairies, these are all occults that should be combined with children and to some extent even toddlers. I don't expect children to have the same options as adults, but a few options appropriate for their age.
Unfortunately it is a trend in the entire sims 4 franchise, not just with the occults. The game is only inclusive for young adults and young adult centered gameplay. This game is changing from a life simulator into a millennial simulator, a very unfortunate development because it narrows down the stories we can tell.
And the eternal excuse of more animations needed because of the different height... Sometimes it is worth the extra effort. It was possible in previous iterations to include younger sims. It feels cheap to use this as a reason in every single pack. It makes me wonder just how limited teens would be if they had a different height."Aine;c-17257250" wrote:"SimTrippy;c-17257202" wrote:
And I hope they'll let us Scruberoo the kids at some point.
EA: doesn't make kids interesting.
Also EA: well if you don't play with them then what's the point of including interesting things for kids?
Simmers: :o
EA: Why are everyone raging out over kids not being interesting, you don't even play with them?
Simmers: :s
I don't like the attitude of EA you are describing here. They pretend they are following our gameplay and drop child gameplay options becausewe don't like it when in reality they force us to focus on young adults to enjoy new packs.
It's even worse than that - EA's attitude is that players don't know what they want, in fact they pretty much make it seem like we're 3 year olds that throws tantrums for the sake of it. Not that we're experienced simmers that have played A LOT of Sims and a lot of other games aswell, and that we KNOW what is possible to create in games, and that we're telling them straight what we actually expect and want in the game. EA's insulting stance that simmers don't know what they're talking about is less frustrating than it is complete bonkers. Anyone that keeps this narrative up at EA should consider changing careers, because game development is not for them. Or, you know, they could simply listen to the horde of experienced simmers that KNOW what works in the game. That's an option too. After all, we're the ones enabling their pay checks.
