Well the Sim I want to grow into an actress is still a teen, and I've been playing a few Sim weeks without the acting career and it's definitely not worth it (I paid $20 at Best Buy as well. I would never have paid full price for this EP). The adults are a painter and a celebrity chef, and their jobs don't seem to give them any fame - you have to work extra out of work to get fame, which makes absolutely no sense. All the fame/money opportunities have involved uploading some videos as well - which is really not realistic at all. I'm quite sure that a celebrity chef would not get famous from streaming from their kitchen... I have to make her write books to get fame. And my painter has to sell paintings he does in his free time to get fame as well (who knows what he actually does at his job...).
Then my teen is an actress after school and all it implies is practicing lines and random pop ups asking you to make a choice (and as far as I can tell, you keep getting the same ones and it's always the same result too - so boring). And that's 5 days a week after school - who knows if it will actually help her get a job as an actress as she grows up either.
So no... it's not fun. It's tedious and honestly not integrated to the rest of the careers well at all. The only reason I actually got the EP is to play with the acting career a bit, but I guess that it will get boring quickly as well (like the other active careers).
