Another BIG problem I have with the jealousy buff is the partner is oblivious. I think just about anyone who has been with a jealous partner knows it takes a toll. It would be interesting to have a "accuse of cheating" interaction come up after the partner had been chatting, or even a less confrontational alternative, "try to learn about past relationship with sim" or something, and have that lead to some negativity of the friendship bar (but leave the romance bar alone). Have "apologize in bed" have a stronger romantic raise with the jealous partner having a positive buff afterwards regarding reassurance.
You could have the partner have negative emotions based on these jealousy-based interactions, or perhaps even a coin toss or something between angry, "How could s/he not trust me," to happy "If s/he didn't worry, s/he wouldn't care," to flirty "I don't know why I find him/her so hot," to sad "I'm tired of this."
You could make a true toxic relationship out of the trait.
Instead, tense. Always. For only the jealous partner.
