Is Newcrest inspired by a real place?

It's inspired by... Willow Creek. Seriously no joke, all they did was copy pre-existing neighbourhoods and edit and tweak several things, mainly the backgrounds, and ta-da! Newcrest was born. I would show you pictures of it, but unfortunately I haven't posted enough to be given the luxury of posting links :'(. But if you look at the lot that the Goths live on you will see the same road as a neighbourhood in New Crest, this is basically what they did for every other neighbourhood, I think I also noticed that some were copies of Oasis Springs neighbourhoods too.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense! It did before when I included pictures, but I'm not allowed. But I hope I cleared some stuff up for you :smiley:
PS: I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the producers for being lazy by copying Willow Creek, I'm not at all and I don't mean for it to sound like that, I really appreciate them for taking the time to give us a new world/empty lots. :smiley:
