Is Paris a thing?!

If you are like me you might have a folder full of CC contents and also a list of CC creators that comes handy when you need to do some "Sim Shopping" for new contents to update your game.

And if you are even more like me you check this forum multiples times a day to see if there's any news or to speculate about things.

We all speculated about a Romance Pack coming. Didn't we?

But...have you noticed that "Paris fever" that is running lately??

- AHarrisBritney00 and Ayoshi released a CC pack for CAS called PARIS and it is beautiful, indeed;
- Felixandre released a Paris themed set of B/B objects;

I learnt the hard way that AHarrisBritney00 is one of the CC creators that teases the most in a SUBTLE way, so I am very suspicious everytime I see something new on its tumblr.
Also, Felixandre... way before we knew of a pack about Japan and Asia he created and released a set for a Japanese home.

Please, take everything as it is: speculationd and craziness given by the fact that:
a: in my country there is a new, strict lockdown so I have nothing to do;
b: this is a speculation thread inside the speculation section.

EDIT AFTER POST:
I forgot to mention that when I refer to CC creators I only refers to those that are Game Changers.

"Normal" CC creators are not aware of what is coming on but GC are, because some of them are requested to test some features prior to us.
That's why I am more than sure that someting is boiling and that there are hints hidden in the most simple things.

  • I am reviving this just because we are one year after and Paris DID became a thing.
    Between the SDX drop with the french style table and chair and the "Modern parisienne style" I was having a clue about it.

    SO THIS: if many Modders release CC that have similar theme they might know prior.

    I hope this might be a hint to something more, like Paris themed world (or european style romantic venues) or hotels!

    It's possible. But it's also possible that various themes picked up by a lot of modders are just a way to make collaborations a bit easier to coordinate, or to show off one's stuff or just personal enthusiasm for a particular theme in a "me too" kind of way. I've seen a few themes taken up by multiple modders that haven't (yet) taken flight high enough to make it onto very many radars (apocalyptic styled CC, for example). Doesn't mean we won't eventually get something from those themes, but just because themes exist in multiple places is no true indication that it means something is coming.

    Sometimes we just want certain things so much that we see hints almost everywhere without realizing that we're actually looking for them. We don't as easily notice hints about things we care little about, so the perceived hints that we do notice are always going to have the appearance of bearing more weight, especially if they do eventually make it into the game in some form. :)
  • I think we are getting a romantic/date night game pack and Outdoor Retreat could be the game pack that is refreshed, which could possibly bring in hotels. :) Also the peeking eyes, in the woods, could also be a Yeti.
    I would actually love this. :)

    There are lots of cc creators to watch, and as @VeeDub pointed out it anything they put out might be coincidence, but if one has potential knowledge of something in the works, my eyes would be on Harrie, and by connection her cc mate Felixandre. My eyes are already on them because they are amazing creators and among my absolute favorites. Knowing now that she's part of this beta program for people to reward creators, she might be privy to some things in the works. She would be under an NDA most likely, but when we start getting a week or so out from a new pack it might be fun to see what her and others are working on. I can't help it, I love the speculation and anticipation.

    All those themed days or weeks on TSR are great at fueling that kind of thinking. They had a Cyberpunk theme week right before the spring roadmap came out, and seeing that sort of neon plumbob on the promo shot for After Dark made me think for a minute did the creators at TSR know something we didn't? It's clear now that it was just my imagination making big leaps of logic trying to tie both things together.

  • unlike the sims 3, I think they won't make any real cities that exist, nor any real monuments. Before, we had the Arc de Triomphe, the Colosseum, Stonehenge, the Sphynx and the Great Wall. They seem to focus on cities that have similarities, but not specifically recognizable

    I don't remember neither Colosseum nor Stonehenge in TS3. Maybe they won't name the worlds after real places, and they didn't do that in TS3 either, but I am fine with that as long as the places have the right flavor and we can pinpoint the source of inspiration. Also, some places are unique enough that you can't call them something generic and hope that people won't recognize them for what they are.

    absolutely. I was referring to monuments like the Eiffel Tower which, in my opinion, will not appear. Stonehenge was in Moonlight Falls, and Colosseum was in Monte Vista

    Well, you can't have Paris without the Eiffel Tower, but I suppose any other French inspired city would be nice, with fashion and perfume shops, little bistros, etc. Maybe they could add a bridge of locks instead as an attraction. Also, if they ever want to add a Colosseum in TS4 there is another one in Tunisia, just as nice as the one in Rome. I think it would be lovely to have a new desert type neighborhood with Tunisian architecture and they could expand on the archeology skill too.
