Is there a lore link between Ermelinda and Cordelia?

I was very into the lore in previous incarnations of the game, but to me it seems like they completely dropped it in the Sims 4. Sure, they have added in a few tidbits here and there after the community have asked about it, but the right hand really don't know what the left hand is doing with this game, and now that Saudi and the a certain orange family is taking over this game, I'm sure there will be none of that.
