Island Living is a good “Expansion Pack”
I see very 50/50 opinions on Island Living. A lot of people who are unhappy feel there’s isn’t enough new gameplay avenues. For me, Island Living is perfect for what an Expansion Pack original...

Yes, but as stated by the OP, expansion packs are meant to expand the base game. This one actually doesn't.
As I said it did for me because I finally got the kind of play I was looking for. And get famous is not in every world - there is only one studio in the world that comes with it.
The effects of being famous are in every world- fame has been added to jobs and various interactions, social and around town. You can become famous and see famous people or visiting the get famous world.
The only thing added in Island living so far that benefits the other worlds is lounge chairs with sun tanning/burning, I think the fishing skill and wading in the water. The new“game play” in this world is confined to this world.
It’s great that you are enjoying having a sim live off the land, but again it’s far from new.
