Right, now that you mention it, I actually wanted to say something about this:
I do wonder sometimes how people would feel about certain packs if the team didn't patch some of the major changes that come with them into the base game for free. Like they did with gardening pre-seasons, lot traits pre-CL, and now again with lounging, gardening, opening up part-time careers pre-IL. Don't get me wrong, I think it's really cool they're doing this, and I think in large part it's because to them these are just building blocks for what's actually in the EP (and, also, for many packs and features that come after, with completely different packs - because one thing they do really well this time around is continue to build on systems and features they've already implemented. Meaning we don't get active careers only once with GTW / Ambitions - but many times over. Idem for lot traits, club activities, and so on). But it also gives huge chunks of gameplay away to everyone for free.. And then people kind of go like "hm well this and that doesn't come with CL / IL / Seasons / Pets though, it was patched into the base game!", somehow either nullifying the work that was put into making some of these things in the first place, or at the very least disregarding the fact that they are tied to these packs regardless of whether or not they were free.
I'm not trying to say, btw, that you don't appreciate the work. :D I'm just wondering, out loud, whether they're not sometimes doing themselves a disservice with that. Because if people actually had to buy the packs to profit from all these new mechanisms and systems - would these packs then rise in value, or not?
