Nah, just take a walk, get your mind off the 'lack' of announcements. Find something to keep yourself distracted. Don't focus on it, don't think about it, and before you know it there will be an announcement.
The more you think about it, the longer the wait becomes.


I know all about the agony of waiting. I'm waiting for the next game of thrones book. The announcements aren't worth waiting for, because they're usually about the release date being pushed back.

Although they like to give the impression that they've been doing lots of things for us and bringing us new content (which they have recently and it's nice and all) apart from these little, small, nice things...I'll be honest and admit it is a content drought due to the fact that we're just scrambling for anything that can be interpreted as a hint to something that's coming. At least with teasers there was something to look out for. Plus I do like to think that with the Summer lull (for those living in the north) winding down and with many simmers finding other things to busy themselves on, the forums only really get regular activity from its regulars nowadays.

I get the distinct impression that players don't care what's next, but just that they know what it is. Like a child that's more fascinated by the box the toy came in than the toy itself. Players wanted, demanded Seasons, but now that it's here, instead of playing the pack they wanted so much, they still wish for more info about what's next.

With older versions, we would get a card in the box telling us what the next pack was going to be, but we still had to wait six months to get it.

Maybe they still want more stuff for their game besides seasons. You don’t need to ridicule people for wanting more.

I remember that.
Though, the next pack was often already out by the time I got the one with the card about it.

I don't think my comment about instant gratification is wrong, @Dannydanbo seems to be seeing the issue too. Look at the way the world binge watches netflix. The internet gives us a fear of 'missing out', or having things 'ruined' by spoilers. And it's not much different with games.

We're not calling people ungrateful children, we're just saying that people need to take a step back, don't stress, don't panic. The developers are trailing something different. When they have some information for us, we will know about it.... well, you guys will, I'll probably be off with the faeries (trying to press them in a book or something), and arrive at the party after everyone else has left. I'm never the first to know.

And with luck, I might have seasons and parenthood by christmas.
So, if you have 'em, play 'em, cos I can't yet.

If it makes you feel better, @Jaysims I notice that every time communication becomes "quiet" amazing things are around the corner. Before toddlers where announced, I believe there was a brief period of "quietness" from the developers. Same with seasons.

I completely hear you, and I miss the QT as well. I liked knowing that there was something I could look forward to with predictability. But just because we aren't told about them, as much as we would like to be, it gives me hope knowing that they are working hard on providing content and constantly improving the game.

So keep your chin up! Amazing things are surely around the corner :heart:

You know that's not what I meant or what I said. I never used the word "ungrateful" and accusing me of doing so is just you trying to stir up trouble. Children that find the box more fascinating than the toy get bored easily once they've gotten what they want. Just like you get bored and come to the forums and look for small, little things to pick on that other people post, just for your own amusement, like your doing now.

What you said, and what you meant by the words you said are as clear as a sunny summer afternoon. Don’t accuse me of trying to stir up trouble when you are the one saying these things.. Are you supposed to get a free pass on rude and disrespectful posts?

Also don’t get it twisted, you aren’t being picked on. You are being called out on something you posted that was not warranted, and frankly was just not nice. Don’t get offended by that, learn from it and become a nicer person.

Ok. This is just my personal opinion, and I am not the people you’re addressing to or talking about, but I totally get why some people are being upset with your metaphor/analogy.

I’m an adult and I would be insulted if another adult told me I was “like a child” and compare me to children (and thus inplying I’m dumb or immature), so I get why some people would be offended by such a statement.

(I mean, would YOU like it if I said YOU’re like a child? Especially if I meant it in a negative way?)

It just sounds condescending, like the person was looking down on an adult in a negative way.

I assume the simmers being talked to are adults or perhaps older teens. (Either way, not good to talk down to people and dismissing their feelings.)

Edited to add: And it does sound like the children and present analogy/metaphor or whatever and the phrasing and tone IS implying that the people being discussed are being like spoiled chidren. NO ONE wants to be told they’re being like spoiled children, lol. It’s not a compliment or a flattering/positive comparison at all.

Just my two cents. If I was told this kind of comparison, I would be somewhat upset, too, lol.

So, to get back on topic, I know that feeling of anticipation and excitement (and perhaps anxiety or worry) about what future content will be coming out.

But, hopefully, the content that does come out later would be good and satisfy the simmers still waiting. :smile:
