It’s been so...

I miss the teasers not a fan of them streaming on Twitch talking about nothing new I'd rather have those Guru's working on the game if they cant offer anything at all which is clearly the case.

Personally, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that the gurus are playing and streaming the game rather than doing their job of creating the game. Of course they need to play it to test features they've created for new packs, but that is not what this is. They've already been streaming as a marketing strategy when new packs are about to be released...why do they need to keep streaming content that we have already seen?

You are welcome! I've been playing since the Sims 1, and while this isn't the longest stretch ever without any communication about the next release, it is definitely relatively long.

I agree, especially with all the bugs in the game right now. I think their time could be better spent on fixing bugs and creating new stuff.

It's actually almost two and a half months (June 26th was the Seasons release), which does seem like quite a long time...

It has been 2 months and that is not a long time at all. I wouldnt blame anyone for finding this mindset to be strange.

They wanted to use their new and improved communication strategy, but instead they took away quarterly teasers and there has been silence for months. I think some frustration here is understandable.

Two (2) months. And the last release was an expansion. If it were a stuffpack or something then maybe I would kind of understand people expecting more so soon.. but this I cannot comprehend. I've never played a game before where people expected new DLC to be constantly pumped out in a 2 month time period

Yes , I know we had the store for the Sims 3 but I thought that's where the stuff packs came in for The Sims 4.

yep and knowing what was coming too. We knew about the boats like six months before it came out. Live streams were worth watching back then too.

Well, 1) Not everyone wants the theme of the current pack and are waiting for other features, and 2) as much as I love Sims 4, their expansion packs are still not as content-filled as the packs in the past, and 3) in Sims 3, we had the Sims 3 store with tons of stuff and Sims 4 did not have a stuff pack in a while. (I’m actually starting to miss the store, lol.)

I think it says something about a game when many customers are still starving for content. Seasons is missing stuff from past Seasons packs, some of us are still waiting for other themes/features like more occults or beach or University (or whatever), and there are still content we’re waiting for from past games (like ocean swimming, NPCs, some more normal careers, or whatever), etc.

I enjoy Sims 4 myself, but it’s more casual and lighter in content compared to the older sims games. I still feel some holes here and there.

(PLUS, some of us have bugs and stuff that may still need to be fixed as well.)

So, yeah, I do not blame the simmers who still want more content. I understand their pain (especially back when the Sims 4 toddlers didn’t exist at base game, ugh).

Welcome to the era of instant gratification.

The unfortunate reality is that it means that in the rush to pump out more content, to satisfy the masses, the quality is lacking. I've got no problem with a 6+ month wait between smaller content, and 12+ months for larger packs, so long as the quality is there. But that doesn't satisfy the masses. They want something 'new' every month, or less, and then will whine that it's not good quality.

Congratulations on the straw man argument. No one is asking for new content "every month, or less."

It has varied over time, but dating all the way back to Sims 1, it has been pretty typical to get new content _roughly_ every three months, or once a quarter. (I.e., about four new packs a year, often more.) It has also usually been the m.o. to get some kind of prior notice about the release. Now, it has been two months and 11 days since the last pack; normally you would expect to see some sort of announcement right around now to hit that three month mark. Moreover... again, for MOST of the run of the various Sims games... it has been traditional to receive hints or teasers of some kind well in advance of that point.

So, again, no one is demanding the release of new content every couple of weeks. What we are saying is that we are getting less _information_ about releases than we have in the past, and we miss it. If that bothers you, don't read the posts.
