You should add some mods to your game; that's the only way I stay interested. If there were no mods, I would never touch this game.
MC Command Center, Meaningful Stories, Wonderful Whims, some *adult* mods ;) , all of them improve the game immensely for me.
Just look at a game like Skyrim, people have kept playing that game since 2011. Why? Because of amazing mods.
