@kimieswildroses one of the gurus jumped into another thread saying they're looking into the fact that losing the machete doesn't always tell you you're losing the machete. but it's supposed to break 30-40% of the time, anyway. (i've actually been having my max gardening sims just use their hands. it goes fast, they don't rip their hands up, it saves machetes for the card options)
@Briana2425 you can buy the antidote at a computer (by default, there's one in the museum) for quite a price, but only if the individual sim is poisoned at the time. some selvadoradans can also make an antidote if your sim has bone dust. there are several ways to get that. one, a sim is given some the first time they 'fail' at either the bowls or 'match the pattern' traps (not sure if others). two, they can occasionally dig them up in excavation/dig sites. three, they can occasionally find them in treasure chests. and four, if a sim maxes selvadoradan culture out, they can ask merchants about their secret wares, which always includes unlimited bone powder, machetes and a few other things, as well as offers a random mix of other unusual things (including skulls from the sugar skull collection!)
@alanmichael1 i've planted one of each berry on one household's home lot. none have yet produced any fruit, but i've also taken cuttings from each of them. while all of the various berries grow into 'tree of emotions', if you take a cutting, it will specify whichever berry was planted (like vimberry). if you splice that on to something else (i always do basil, parsley, or sage since they grow so fast), that will only grow the specific berry (along with whatever the base plant is). so, you'd need to splice all 7 berries onto one plant to get them similar to the tree. or, you can make plants that focus on each individual berry, which may be nice for specific jobs or working on specific skills
...also, as someone else reported in another thread, do not plant the berries in a rental lot and then leave before the tree sprouts. bad things happen...
Thanks
