Yes you can.
I actually like using the voodoo doll to cause emotional deaths. In the black widow challenge I made my sim cheat on his wife, afterwards they had a long fight, and then I used to voodoo doll to tip her over the edge. She died a while after. I imagine I could do the same thing for playful, get her to watch the comedy channel, then be playful with her, then tickle the voodoo doll should do it?
