I haven't played in about 5 months so it was a bit of an adjustment getting used to the new emotion. I felt that it didn't suit some of my sims' personalities. I don't think it should be a one size fits all sort of thing. But I grabbed storm chaser and brave and it's not a problem anymore. I also use a mod to dial it down. I wouldn't want it to be nerfed for everybody, I'm perfectly fine using the options available to me (store reward and/or mod).
