Someone pointed out that this will make the Gallery virtually unusable after 4 or 5 of these kits.
Unless they actually give up and give us a proper search function, but EA has refused: The reason you can't filter on packs you don't own, obviously, is that EA don't want you to be able to not buy packs, so they deliberately makes it as annoying as possible to not own all packs.
Why would it do that ? If someone doesn't own a kit that was used on the build or sim, would it not just be like someone not owning a pack ? The object or clothing just wouldn't appear in your game @Beardedgeek
