Unfortunately, the Sims 3 & its DLC has not had a $5 sale on Steam since the Sims 4 became available there.
This is something I have to second because I have been watching Sims 3 through several sales. I knew it was going to be a nightmare to transfer my Sims 3 packs to Origin and possibly expensive to replace the ones I could not, so I was going to work my way up Steam sales. However, in all the time I watched Sims 3 never went on sale.
We are not the only two to have noticed this, either. You can search around and find a few threads on the matter.
It appears even though Sims 3 production cycle has ended it is still popular regardless of whatever problems ails it. Everything that is Sims 3 is still intact and I remember when Sims 2 ended so did the site as it was archived and that is not the case for Sims 3.
