L-Shaped Stairs

Is there a mod for L-Shaped stairs?
I'm building a replica of one of my childhood homes and I need l-shaped stairs to put them where I want them.

I think in some ways these split level lots will make L-Shaped stairs possible.

Has anyone made L-shaped stairs (like as a room) and uploaded them to the gallery?

I have not been able to create these since we had those interior platforms in Sims2. If someone is able to figure it out I'm all ears (or eyes, since I'm reading this)> :open_mouth:
  • At least there was a way around making L shaped stairs in TS2. This version it's nearly impossible. Only having 1 option for stairs, 4 years down the line is really crappy. Builders keep being ignored, they keep focusing on TS4's 'crazy sims with crazier stories' ugh. I just wanna build & furnish.
  • As far as I could figure out, there are two ways to "hack" L-shaped stairs but these methods are not very satisfactory:

Version 1 - basically you make a stair going up to the second floor, another staircase, rotated, going up to the third floor, and delete the second floor, so you have to skip the second floor, your stairs will be really long, and your builds will have really tall walls/ceiling heights.

Version 2 - you have a house with a foundation, and for part of a room, you delete the floor over the foundation, then make stairs going up, then make more stairs, rotated, going up to the second floor. The only problem is you can't have the front door of the house starting at the bottom level, it has to be at the level of the foundation, so you will have to have a "sunken room" or split level to achieve this. In other words, open the front door, go down a few steps, then up an L-shaped staircase - not really workable for my purposes.

If anyone knows a better way right now to achieve this I'd love to know. I looked around and couldn't even find any custom content L-shaped staircases for Sims 4.

I think that if there's CC that looks like non-straight stairs, it wouldn't be able to be functional, because the game doesn't have it? Maybe it could be faked with short wall height and levels without floors, but they'd still be crazy tall.
Maybe the land tools update will make it more possible? It seems like at a basic level, that make it necessary to account for more dynamic heights than the current system.

Correct... the animation isn't there so the modder would also have to create the animation which is different from making the stairs themselves.

  • I tried to build them, but you have to take away the floor and then my front door is all messed up. Hope they give them to us soon.
  • Sorry for reviving an old thread, but there is a way to make those decorative custom content L-shaped stairs work (City Living Required to make them functional):
    1) Find a decorative L-shaped staircase piece and place it in your home
    2) Download this mod (Requires City Living): http://modthesims.info/d/611299/teleporter-and-elevators-for-community-and-residential-lots.html
    3) Place Master Elevator Marker at base of stairs
    4) Place Slave Elevator Maker at top of stairs
    5) Enjoy. Unfortunately, due to how the mod was designed, your sim will just teleport to the top of the stairs whenever you route the sim upstairs. So no stair climbing animation.
