How do you use washtub in the new stuff pack keeps telling me to add additives

Just to add to the mysteries of this Stuff Pack... if you have a stackable washer/dryer and no counters, your clean clothes can go on top of the washer... and be hidden from sight, somehow shoved into a non-existent space between the two machines. Be warned!
